KNOCK SENSOR LOCATIONS
Model Location
Pickup 2.4L 4WD In Cylinder Block, Below Air Cleaner
Pickup 3.0L In Cylinder Block, Below Air Cleaner
REMOVAL
Disconnect negative battery cable. On all models, disconnect knock sensor connector. Using Knock Sensor Socket (SST 09816-30010), remove knock sensor. Using ohmmeter, ensure there is no continuity between terminal and ground. If there is continuity, replace knock sensor. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten knock sensor to 33 ft. lbs. (44 N.m).
