Today has been my first whole day with my new top and I love it. Last night it rained very hard, it didn't leak one drop. The craftsmanship is excellent, the materials used are excellent. I like the spring loaded quick release for the support bars.


I love the way the sides come off (with ease) so you can have the bikini top style. To put the sides back on, you slide the bottom in the curved tube.



The top of the sides attach to the bottom edge of the top with a zipper and velcro overlap.


I drove it to work today, hit speeds of 75 mph, no flapping. The whole top and supports weight about 21 lbs. I think I might get better mileage without the fiberglass top. When I got home, I took the sides off and made a special trip to blockbuster to return a video, again perfect. It takes no time to put the sides back on. It comes with extra screws, buckles and stickers which I'm going to proudly display.

That is nice! Unfortunately, you will tire of it very soon and then have to send it to me. I will take the burden for you.....mmhm.

Seriously, though.....you're utilizing the rear window still. How is the glass supported, if it all? I can't see that it is. Does it rattle/vibrate or anything?

I can't quite tell in the pics what happens with the rear window? is it still used or is there a vinyl one?

Baz, it's about half the price of a can-back.

thook, you're first in line for when I get "tired" of it. The rear window goes between some straps and the top. It fits very snug, and doesn't rattle at all. You have to get the very back support bar at the right angle, which isn't hard to do and it works perfect.

bigredj87, that is the rear window. You can get a vinyl one, but I didn't want to drill or anything.

Just when you're up for it, would you mind taking some pics of how the rear window fits into the straps and top? To be honest, I'm formulating plans to build one for myself. I actually like the idea of using the rear window as opposed to the standard roll up vinyl. I can see having to struggle with this floppy ars thing putting in and/or taking stuff out of the back in dry or wet conditions. Not for me! Plus, I like the idea of still being able to vent air from inside the cab at the usual touch of a button.

I've seen this company before. I called the guy up and he was really nice and helpful. He said he could even make one for my 82 pickup for about the same price. He also had a feature in 4WD Toyota Owner magazine a while back. I think he is also on this forum. Awesome tops! I plan to get one as soon as finances permit.

I've noticed that with the sides on and the back window down, you don't smell exhaust fumes like you do with the hard top on and the window down. Must be something about the shape and smaller opening at the back.
