Just a quick question, regearing absolutely needed?

Hey guys,
I found an awesome deal on some 33" BFG A/T's, now because I have never personally bought larger tires than 31's, I was just wondering whether it is absolutely necessary to re-gear to 4.88's, I am not doing any long distance traveling, just to work, school, etc. and of course hitting the trails in my free time, and if I would need to do some long distance i would just throw on my tiny set of radials. I Know it's suggested to re-gear but is it absolutely necessary.

Thanks,
Dave

I know a few people including myself who didn't regear. You will not have as much powner on hills and take a bit longer to get up to speed. I the woods in low range I used to use 2nd and 3rd gear the most but after my 34s I use 1st and 2nd. I would like to regear myself sometime but I wouldnt say for me it is necessary. The style of wheeling would have alot to do with it.

x2, it's not strictly necessary in most cases.

Just take one thing at a time, if it's a good deal. Buy the tires, put them on the truck, you may need a little lift, you work on that first, you'll love the new looks, then save money for the gears.

Put them on and try it out. You won't know till you try.

Its ok for a couple months, but you are going to want to regear soon after 33's.

Yeah man..stop wasting time and get the 33's man before someone else snatches them up..its not that bad but if it really bothers you regear and if u have to save up then go back to your stocks until u can afford the gears. But I'm sure once you see how much better your truck looks you won't mind sacraficing a lil power.
