Just picked up a 1992 Truck, need advice.
So I work for a shop in Wisconsin, and my boss bought a 1992 pickup (pretty decent shape it needs some help but nothing I can't fix) from one of his other buddies shops, they say it needs an engine 22RE.
Pull it in, charge up the battery do a compression check...80 first cylinder and about 40 psi on all the others...
So tear the head off? What are likely problems. The truck has about 137,xxx on it so I don't think it can be to big of a deal.

Pour some oil in the cylinders and recheck compression, if it goes up its rings, if it stays the same it valves. In any case taking the head off with that kind of compression will be necessary at some point.
