Intermittent stumbling up hills and accelleration

94 efi 4 cyl truck, 218,000 miles

Like the title says, it only happens intermittently. Some days it runs like a dream, all day. some days it does it when I first drive it and then will smooth out later in the day. So far got:
  • new plugs and wires
  • new rotor and cap
  • put Heet in it
  • put some fuel system cleaner in it
If it was a consistent thing it'd be one thing but this intermittent crap is driving me nuts. It makes it all that much more hard to deal with cuz you think its fixed and then BOOM! there it goes again. It makes me think something is slowly but surely going out on it...maybe the whole damn motor. What do yall think?

Replace the fuel filter, and remove the throttle body and give it a good cleaning. Also if the 02 sensor is original, you might consider replacing it sometime in the future, and get an OEM replacement. Don`t use a Bosch 02 sensor.

fixed at least for now

I took off the end of the hose closest to the opening of the throttle body and sprayed half a can of gumout in there while it was running. It took about 20 minutes to spray that amount in there. Too much or too little spray and it would almost die. Anyway I took it up the steepest hill in town twice and it didnt stumble at all. Illreplace the O2 sensor too for good measure. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY!
