Inclinometer swap

Inclinometer swap
So I have an 85' toyota pickup sr5 full I. Options and the only thing it doesn't have is the inclinometer. I was wondering if anyone knew if the sr5 pickups came with the connectors Allredy installed? I got an 87' 4runner for $300 and it had one. Just didn't know if anyone has done the swap them selfs thanks

the wire attached to the inclinometer powers the lights.
otherwise it needs no external power..
85-88 should have female plug somewhere under dash.
some come with a mounting bracket.
w/ that it looks like you screw directly into the dash..
yikes.
i want one.

My 86 base model pickup had the wiring under the dash pad.
Its a pretty simple install, as long as you get a inclinometer with the bracket. Pull off the pad and drill the mounting holes, which are already marked by a metal bracket on the backside of the pad.
One thing to keep in mind is that deluxe interior models have a different dashpad, so in some cases fitment may not be perfect.
My inclinometer has a slight mismatch because of this reason. However I wanted it for function, so it doesnt bother me, and most people probably wouldnt even notice.

I found a plug tucked under the dash behind the glove box that is the same shape as the inclinometer light, but it's not for lighting so it didn't do anything. There is a part that some trucks need that is just a Y-harness to split the climate control lighting into 2 plugs, but even if you could find it at a dealer it would be $$$. Just tap into the climate control lighting yourself and it is really easy.
When testing, don't forget to double check the "light off" button on the inclinometer itself. Many d'oh moments caused by that little guy
