Idling problem after driving
Hey guys I'm very new to Toyota's have never had one before. Anyway getting to the point. Right before winter I blew the differential on my previous car and needed a car since I commute to school. My uncle told me he'd give me his 93 4runner and I wasn't a fan of it considering I'm more of a small car stupid driving type of person but after driving the car for a month I can honestly say I fell in love but not knowing anything about them I'm having a hard time diagnosing this idling problem. The car starts and idles like it should but every time I drive it and come to a stop the rpms drop down past idle to around 300 and stay there for 10 to 20 seconds then go back up to somewhere around 700. This happens at every stop sign and red light. The plugs are brand new wires are brand new I bought a new vane and installed it today but the problem keeps happening. Have no idea where to even look. Any help or ideas I'd really appreciate. It's a 93 4runner with a 3vze and manual transmission.

Have you checked to see if it is throwing any codes? Need to jump the diagnostic port and then look for the flashing check engine light. Did it do this before you gave it a tuneup? If it has no codes and was happening before the tuneup. You could check for vacuum leaks by spraying some carb cleaner over you break booster vacuums lines. If the motor races you have a leak. Check the codes it will help us help you.

Ok so I spent the whole day pretty much trying different things and I jumped the terminals te1 and e1and the check engine light just kept blinking constantly but and there's no check engine light on. I changed the coolant temp sensor because of a suggestion from a mechanic friend but still no luck. I'd gladly give more info but I'm not quite sure where to start.

When you say constantly have you checked the FSM to see if that means something? Just because it doesn't show when driving doesn't mean there is nothing wrong.
Here is a link to a 93. Might help some
