im about to put my spare on a CBI tire carrier with a hi lift.

with that said that will add approx. 100 to 115 pounds to my rear end

my 4runner is already higher in the front and i want to put 1.5" poly spacers in the rear.

is that a good idea?

OK, so just the standard rear sag.

IMHO, the spacers on coil springs is fine. Replaement coils are better, but the spacers are fine.

I was very happy with my heavy duty OME rear springs they lifted it about 2.5 inches http://www.gentryoffroad.com/php/gen...uctreview/ome/
Ball joint spacers seem to be popular for the front of that year.

I've got poly spacers in my 90, they'll do you fine. Just be ready for it to feel funny driving at first. The big thing that I came into was that with the addition of the spacers my sway bar was what almost seemed like, locked in one place. It made my runner really stiff. I just took them out and have been running like that for a while now without any problems. There is a lot of body roll but you get used to it. Hope that helps.

I'd get new coils...I was debating on getting spacers as well but decided to wait...save and get coils. It'll do better with the added weight as well.



I was curious about the roll in the rear...I pulled my front out and she rolls a bit, just can't drive like its a lil coup that's all. Does pulling the rear make a bigger difference on roll? I'm sure it helps a bit on the trails as well?

In my experience, going from front/rear swaybars to rear only was pretty minor. Going from rear only to none was pretty significant.

if you go with spacers get high strength metal ones, I dont know much about what the poly spacers can take, but i would think the added weight would cause the spacers to prematurely degrade or shrink

i can vouch for the OME coils as well... they are by far one of the best mods that i have done to my runner... they lifgted the back end up above stock height and in order for me to bottom it out it takes about 300 lbs in the back and a VERY twisty and hilly road...
plus, they ride like a dream on the street(better than stock) and they have an unbelievable amount of flex offroad...
they are pricy, but worth it...

i ordered 4crawler offroad 2in spacers from there.

once installed do i need to do anything else?

extend brake lines? anything?

for 2-3" nothing... other than maybe have the alignment checked.. but if your not doing the front, than you might not have to worry about it
