I have a serious problem...
...that i'm about to make worse!
I'm addicted to Toyota 4x4 and may be potentially picking this guy up on Sunday assuming I can get it for the price I wanna pay.

Wait wait wait a minute, you had a first gen runner right, did you sell it I must have missed something here. I'm confused bare with me on the confusion what did I miss??
Ok I see sold on your 1st gen but ummm I'm lost why you would get rid of that and buy that?? Sorry I have such a love for the first gens I just can't justify at the moment to get what I want, I just can't imagine getting rid of one that was so sweet.

He says there's some rust forming over the wheel wells. But the pics do look promising.

Well regarding the motor ... you might consider trying this swap
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread...293577&page=26
a TDI diesel motor. The guy ran through 4 different clutch options before settling on a newer setup. Its a quick read and really good information in there.
HPA motorsports swaps in late model PD diesels from 2003-2006 jetta/golf etc... They have a lifted YJ getting great gas mileage and power. As far as I have read they also can run biofuel.
Otherwise I would run a 1uz-fe converted to propane using direct injection sytems. A lot of people are running them in Australia and the fad is coming back over to North America as we catch up with the technology. Running at any angle and no loss of power... gain in torque and oil lasts longer... more benefits to list but the main one I like is being able to run a turbo charger through the unit and the fuel loves it.
Thoughts to be slammed by other members and yes I know they aren't cheap options to put in. My main reason for all of these options is that the fuel to run your clean Toyota will be cheap.... it will pay for itself in the long run.

I just found this lady up here... sent an email to ask what other modifications have been done since they changed a couple things on the exterior.

I figure it would be a great donor for my diesel swap even though the motor and transmission are wrong for me. But should be an easy sell if I was to get rid of them.
