Thumbs up I have clutch pressure, but wont switch gears!

Hello, So I ran into a big problem, Im guessing someone stole my bellhousing bolts because, a few days ago my tranny disconnected from my engine! I know, pretty bad. And today I got some new bolts, and got it connected, I then bleed the clutch, it has pressure, but wont switch gears What could be wrong? and suggestions would be great!

Maybe they stole your clutch too!

Is your clutch pedal bracket busted?

They didn't steal my clutch, I had it parked at school overnight, bad idea, I then wen't to take it home during lunch, and it disconnected while i was driving, so my clutch is still there.

Check the pedal adjustment.....mine always backs out and I think my clutch is slowly going out. Does the pedal seem floppy?

When bleedign the clutch do you press the slave cylinder in before tightening the bleeder valve?

Have someone in truck....they will pump pedal 5-6 times then hold pedal in.
You crack bleeder for a sec till fluid comes out. Repeat several times.
Kep eye on clutch master cylinder fluid level. Fill as needed.

Did you pull the pressure plate and inspect the clutch disk before you bolted it back in? i would have to guess when the trans separated from the engine the input shaft was no longer being supported by the pilot bearing and caused the clutch disk to get damaged by warping it or messed up the teeth the input shaft slide into and now it's binding up.

Red face

I am guessing you never pulled it apart to check things .

it is possible the clutch release bearing holder popped off of the clips or came loose so it does nothing when you push the pedal.

Someone did a lot of work to get those two top bolts loose .

I have never been able to get them without pulling the crossmember and rear drive shaft.

Sounds like you need to pull it and inspect it for damages could be the clutch fork came off the pivot bolt or the bearing

By getting some extenders its not hard at all.
