I got nothin'!! 22re wont start after top end rebuild
So, over the past week or so, I have been rebuilding the top end of my '89 pickup 22rE... While disassembling it, I was sure to label the hell out of EVERYTHING. Everything is back where it belongs, connected correctly, and torqued and installed correctly... I just went for the initial startup... And I got nothing but starter noises and spark noises... Any suggestions???
One thing that I thought may be an issue is the fuel lines going to and from the fuel filter... While disconnecting them to install a new filter, I found how difficult it was to correctly gauge where the holes in the bolts were comparable to the fuel lines... Could the issue be that they are not lined up correctly?? Someone please help...

Yes, it is trying to start, everything is cranking, but it will not turn over. I believe now, after looking at it more, that it may be a fuel issue... There is no fuel making it through the lines on my throttle body. The furthest along that fuel is showing presence is at the junction between a fuel line and my upper intake.

Would the fuel not get past the filter if it was on backwards? Because from what I can tell, the fuel is getting past the filter and up to my EFI body but then seems to cut off there.

In research, it seems as if that wouldn't make a difference as to whether the fuel would move through it. Not saying that isn't on backwards, but that doesn't seem like what is causing my current issue.

I dont know about the filter youre using, but some (if not all) are directional, may as well put it on the right way just to be sure.
Fuel will still flow through it, just not as well.
Have you ever taken one off and shaken it. Fuel comes out one side easier than the other.
So that may be why you arent getting enough fuel to the motor. The pump might just not have enough psi to push it through the backwards filter more than a little bit of fuel at a time.

Alright. I will have to try that...
Stick with me here and see if this makes sense to you... There is a fuel line that comes from under the upper plenum and into the side of the EFI chamber... This is the furthest that my fuel is getting... I believe that it may be clogged and fuel isn't getting through the piece mounted to the side of the EFI body. However, I may be talking out of my ass and have no idea what I am talking about...

Crack the CSI Line to see if fuel comes out. If you have fuel getting to the the injectors than check that the ground is hooked up to the intake. Check all fuses and relays. If thats not it check the wiring harness for broken injector wires.
