how much do i need to cut off first gen roll bar to fit gen2?

how much do i need to cut off first gen roll bar to fit gen2?
in the posts i read some say 1/2 inch some say 2 and a 1/4 inch..whats the number i need i dont mind if i cut it a little short but i jsut dont want it to still not fit...

Lot of variables in that. Are you leaving the carpet in the back or getting rid of it, are you gonna try to reuse the mounting plates, are you bolting or welding it?
Best bet is to cut a little off at a time. It's a lot easier to cut off more material than to add.
Just measure from the wheel hump to the top of the cab, and the floor to the cab, and go from there. You have the roll bar there next to you? Grab a tape measure!

i did measure it and there is no carpet... but if someone has already taken all the guess work out of it id rather do that because while im confident in my skills id rather it look the best it can.
if i dont get a reply by tommorow ill grab the tape measure..
after i finish swaping out those pesky diff studs for some grade 8 hardware i got..
