how do you translate brake caliper casting numbers

I am trying to get a new front caliper right side, there is some debate as to what year vehicle the calipers are from. My friends at Kchnects asked me if I had checked the casting numbers on them so we could order the correct caliper. No matter how much I search can't seem to get a solid answer on the year or how to translate the casting numbers. Anyone have the answer or know where to start looking

Can you post pictures of just what you have??

Myself I have never heard of casting numbers used for that purpose most times just to identify a lot number to the caster.

You would need to have the numbers of every foundry that ever made them.

What do I know someone always knows more.
