how to attach spare to 4runner roll bar ?
I know people are strapping these to roll bars but I need to see how its done. any pics would be helpful thanks. I have mine strapped back there but its always coming loose because it doesn't sit up flush to any thing.

I would just weld 2 wheel studs to the bar, the appropriate distance apart, and bolt the spare on with lug nuts.
You could also drill through the bar and weld a 3/4 " over the hole. Then buy a foot long 3/4" bolt to thread into that nut through the hub-hole of the rim and weld some flat bar to the bolt head that will screw tight against the tire... like how a trunk-floor mounted spare system works but horizontal.
It's probably not a very famous idea though, have you taken an entire load of passengers camping in a 1st gen AND carried all the crap? Space is limited and entertaining a large spare you may or may not use is not a welcoming option.
Not to knock your idea... that's where mine was at one point, but space is limited and you'll find out quick.

I have mine back there with a ratchet strap now, but I would like to see how people are running the strap, because the tire does not sit flush to the bar it keeps loosening up.
