Hood pins... Where did you mount them?
I'm tired of fooling around trying to get my hood cable fixed, so I've decided to go with a set of hood pins. I was looking at it today, and I'm trying to figure out the best place to mount them. For guys with hood pins, could you provide a pic of how you did it? Thanks.

Don't do that, go to a salvage yard and get a new used cable from a wreaked truck or 4Runner if they use the same type of pull mechanism, I did it on my 87 toy 4x4 back in 97 from a 4Runner, and did it to my 94 mazda B2300 (Ford Ranger) last year, and got one from a Ford Ranger for the the Mazda and it's easy to do like running wire through firewall, but it's up to you. if you replace the cable be sure to hang cable up on end and run some oil down it to lube the inside before you install it so eliminate it from being dry and breaking...

went and took some pics for ya.
hope this helps. by the way i dont run any latch or safety catch with this and have never had an issue with hood movement or hold down. on another note.... i do alot of stupid things on a normal basis so listen to incoming comments about leaving your safety catch in place for good measure.
