highway speed problem- 87 4runner lack of power up to 60

I just bought a 87 4runner, on my way to work I was driving on the freeway and I couldn't get my speed up to 60. I accelerated all the way but won't go it seems like it is dropping instead of going and its eating up my gas. does anybody have that problem?

Throttle position sensor, air flow meter.

A worn air flow meter, one with dead spots in the resistance curve. And similar worn out or unplugged throttle sensor

Make sure those connections are firm and clean.

Exhaust, you will notice a lack of Rpms out of gear as well a different sound. You can disconnect the intermediate pipe at the manifold to test this.

Clutch you'll have higher Rev and less movement.

Thank you, I was wondering.

I have been working with the same a 22R engine out of an 85 2 wheel drive truck since 2001. I thought I knew it very well and I saw the post and it had me questioning what I knew...
