help with tires
so i have a 1992 4runner and it came stock with p225/75r15 tires. it is a v6 and i want to put 32/11.5 on it and was wondering what my gear ratio is and if i need to change anything to it

I dont think you will really need gears, especially if you have a 5spd...A/T will probably be a little worse but still do-able. If you just want to regear I would do 4.56's.
Might need to crank your torsion bars or some other small lift for those to fit without rubbing, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will chime in.

First find out what gears you have now.
You can either look up the axle code located in the drivers side door sill on the sticker. But these are known to not always be right.
to make 100% sure of your gear ratio do the lifted tire method:
Block the front wheels (safety first please)
Jack up a single rear tire (only need to have it about 1" off the ground)
Mark the driveshaft
Mark the rear tire
Have a friend spin the tire 20 times
count how many times the driveshaft turns
Take that number and divide by 10.
For 4.10 gears you would get 41 rotations of the d-shaft... and so on.

In theory (according to the door jamb tag) I have 4.88s and I've had 32x11.50s ever since I bought the truck. I like them and have enough power to get them turning. The torsion bars shouldn't have to be cranked if you're running stock wheels too. As far as power/pep, just expect less than you have now if you have an auto, but probably not as noticeable with a 5-speed. Good luck.

so i don't know what this means but i have 8" first position diameter, positions 2 and 3 are 3.360 and 4.111 and i have 4 pinions. can anyone tell me what this means?

there are guys running 35's with 4.10 gears. It will work, but your truck will be a dog. For better results grab a set of 4.56 diffs. They are VERY common in 3rd gen pickups ( that came with stock 31" tires).

You can get them at any junkyard that has a truck equipped with them. You can also wait till somebody puts a set up for sale ( I just sold mine). But beware, if you have not done something like this before, its not for the faint of hearted. You need a pretty good asortment of tools, and an extra set of hands. I would look up how to swap diffs, it will give you an idea what you are in for.
If you are lucky some junkyards will pull the diffs for you, but I have seen some of them wreck diffs cutting corners removing them.
As for the lift - you SHOULD be able to fit the tires without a lift, but if you want to lift it anyways ( give extra clearance) go for it. I ran a 3" lift with 31x11.50" tires.. It looked a little goofy, but a 32x11.50 and 2" lift should look good.

a diff swap is actually pretty easy in my opinon i have done it and it was a piece of cake, but i am a pretty hands on type of person and had fun doing it, and i can sit up straight under my truck

Dude I wouldnt worry about it, just go with a bfgoodrich 31 or a 32 cant go wrong with that rubber, they will fit with no lift.
