Are you getting accurate odometer mileage readings? You can check the odometer against a known distance like the mileage marks on a freeway.

So, what the history on the 13.5 mpg? Sudden drop from something higher?

Any codes? Presumably, something obvious like a stuck injector or wacky VAF would throw one.

You might consider a lighter foot. I drive about 61mph on the fwy; I've found that increasing to about 65mph results in a 10% lower mpg. Slowing down isn't for everyone, but it does work.

Check your timing.

Compare your speedo to a GPS or GPS like phone app.

Red face

Weight how much extra stuff are you dragging around ??

What tire pressure ??Lower pressure lower mileage to a point

What type of tread the more aggressive the lower mileage .

I never drive any of my 22rec engines except Celica`s on the interstate just not enough engine
