HELP with motor mount....
Hey folks I pulled the 22re out of my 87 4runner a few days ago. Will be swapping it with an AutoSpec Engine longblock. Anyhow before i pulled it i noticed the engine was tilted slightly. Now that its out i can see what was done. It appears the top plate on the passenger side motor mount perch was rewelded and whoever did it welded it on too low. They tried to compensate a little by added another flat plate to the bottom of the actual motor mount.
Are there any local welders or members in Riverside who can help me fix this before i put my new motor back in?
Should i cut the top plate off, clean up the area and have the same plate rewelded or will the metal be weak at that point?
Thanks for any advice and or help !
