HELP! Broken down in Crater Lake Nat'l Park
I'm typing on behalf of 24runna. He says leaking fuel from the top of the tank. Near the fuel pump seal, somewhere around there. It's Friday nite, can't work on car in Nat'l Park, shops closed til Monday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. On a road trip from IL. Really need help! If anyone could help, He's calling from a pay phone but the place is closing. I will get new number from him. Please help!
Okay, they've decided to try to make it to Portland since it's a major city and they might find a shop open on a Saturday. Anyone can still post a comment! I'll check in the morning. Thanks!

This is da real 24Runna now.
Well its driveable, but it leaks fuel. So you get really crappy gas mileage. We're on our way to Portland now, but maybe the next major city we see.
I'm thinking the seal just went bad or the filter is becoming clogged. It was a hard time starting.
We're on 97 North right now.
Anyone else have this issue before? Any help would be greatly, greatly, greatly appreciated.

I feel like there is a leak on your fuel return line or maybe the fuel filter is causing blockage. Can you get to that seal? Is anything loose?

sounds like my buddys truck what happened is the top of the tank the lines are at a 90 bend so they sit with water salt mud and junk then rust and rust and rust then after a hard hit or to much fuel puressor the line snaps and it sprays fuel everywhere only way to fix it is to get a new top mount thingy not sure if it comes with the fuel pump or not but that sounds like what it could be sorry to hear that

Hey guys figured out the issue. Gametom and Just a 22re hit it on the head.
the fuel pump line had a hole in it.
I picked up some quiksteel epoxy and so far its holding.
Now I gotta find where the hell to get a new piece.
Thanks guys! We're on our way to Seatle now!

if you have too you could always stop off just about anywear and buy aftermarket braided hose or rubber and fittings and run it from the tank all the way forwards leaving the stock steel for now. Are you gonna make it all the way up to bellingham? definatly can recomend an awesome shop if you are

Fuel sending unit is dealer only item, does not come with fuel pump. Temp. fix and/or perm. fix depending on where it is rusted threw is rubber fuel inj. fuel line, it can handle the higher fuel pressure. The last sending unit I bought was around $80.00, and had to be ordered.

Damn. Well so far the QuickSteel epoxy is holding with no leaks at all so lets hope. We just slept at Mt. Rainer and now checking out University of Washington. This is our 3rd day in Seattle, lol.
I saw a few Yota's that looked very familiar, I saw a red truck in Seattle getting tables and coolers from the Pride Parade, and the wheels looked like some I've seen on here.
We passed through Aburn I think.
