HELP with a bolt!
The bolts for the alternator bracket backed out on me.
I managed to find a bolt that works for the part of the bracket that's under the distributor and holds the dipstick tube down. But I can't find a bolt that will work for the one that's supposed to be under the tensioner pulley for the power steering, the hole is pretty big, I tried a couple bolts I have in the garage, they're all either too small or too big.
Sorry for my terrible explination, but does anyone know what size the bolt is?

The one that's under the distributor is an M8x1.25, but the one I need is way bigger, I tried an M10x1.25, and a 3/8 16 and they were both too small. 7/16 14 was the next size up that I had and it's too big!

I called the dealer and they wanted the VIN, so I had to call back later, and the guy was like "yeah, I can see it in my computer, but we don't stock it and I can't tell what size it is, it should be the same size as the other one" and he argued back and forth with me about how it should be the same size as the other one but it's not... so I hung up..
Turns out it's a m10x1.50 and it needs to be 2 1/2-3" long

Call DeathCougar at Nix99. If your area's anything like mine, you'll have a hard time finding that bolt. I even have a hard time finding them at specialty fastener shops. They seem to be mostly geared towards construction and industry. But, never hurts to call them if you have any near you.

I found one at Home Depot, it's just a regular grade 5 zinc plated bolt, but it'll work. I backed it with a lock washer so hopefully it won't back out again.
