Help 92 22RE won't start
Let me say I did a search but can't find exactly my situation.
Replaced the coolant temp sensor and then installed a cold air intake.
Went to start but it shuts off after two to three seconds of running. The check engine light came on too.
What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?
I am assuming it has something to do with the MAF sensor. I did not touch the TPS.
Many thanks in advance for the help.
If it won't run, I will have to get a tow to my mechanic.

Ok, so tested the MAF and one circuit did not test so I went and ordered a replacement. I just hope this was a coincidence.
I will report back with results.

It's not a MAF; it's a Volume Air Flow Meter (VAFM). You probably pulled something loose when you removed it. Did you remove the screws to the attachment or did you pull the pin & remove it the right way?

You probably do have a problem vis-a-vis the VAF (though I'm not sure you needed to replace it; a loose connector alone would do it).
But what about the codes? You should always check them; your engine is asking for help. You ought to listen. http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...e/diagnosi.pdf

Well swapped out the MAF and it did the trick. Word of warning; don't unscrew the connector from the MAF. their is one very hard to see metal wire clip that holds the female connector to the male prongs. This is where I screwed up.
The check engine light is extinguished now as well.
