help! 22re 199k miles wont start!
My 87 4 runner with the 22re wont start at all, it turns over and everything but it seems like its not getting fuel. I havnt checked to see if its sparking or not and all the plugs and wires are connected. What could this be?!?!?! also it ran fine yesterday drove it for an hour on the highway... now it wont start today. Also another question, why does my check engine light come on when i stay at the same rpms for awhile. when i let off the gas or give it more gas it goes off. wtf?? help please!

As far as the CEL goes, mine did that when I needed a new o2 sensor. Check what codes you're throwing. I would almost bet it's the o2 sensor. Cheap/Easy fix.
As for why your truck won't start... There are a TON of reasons. Did you try push starting it? I imagine that won't work, but it's worth a try.
I am honestly not the best mechanic in the world, but I am sure someone here could give you a plethora of things that may (or may not) be happening.

The CEL lights in our trucks only show while whatever's malfunctioning is malfunctioning.
As far as your truck not running, it could be something as simple as a fuse or relay, or something complex like a bad ground, or a short. Who knows. Do some testing and post back.

Haha, it's not THAT heavy. Once it starts going that weight will help you get it going faster.
Do you know how to pull the codes from the CEL?
Mattaway- I love your truck man. That color is awesome. I commented on the picture in your album.

"What could this be?!?!?!"
This could be just about anything. Basic diagnosis goes like this: (after getting a manual if you don't already have one)
1. Jump diagnostic terminals to read code(s), then determine what that code(s) is
2. Check compression
3. Check spark, spark plugs, AND ignition timing
4. Check fuel pressure
5. Don't forget simple things like battery voltage (both static and cranking voltage)
If that doesn't determine something, go back to the manual and start the next set of checks.
Good luck and welcome to YT!

Should help you out.
Basically...
Get a paper clip
pop your hood, on the left side where the fuses are there is a little black box about 3/4" x 1 1/2". Open that.
Bend your paper clip to fit into slot "TE1" and E1"
Watch how many times your CEL light blinks, right it down. Each number corresponds to a different symptom.

Haha, yeah 1 coat will do that. Like I said in the comment, you should do some sort of bedliner on the bottom section. A buddy has a truck EXACTLY like yours but he painted his like a sand color with bedliner on the bottom. Looks AWESOME.

I hate to say it but your o2 sensor could be the reason for it not starting also. My truck was having the same issues I couldnt for the life of me figure them out.. FInally gave up and it was taken to a shop today.. My o2 sensor wires were mesed up and o2 sensor wasnt working at all in turn that meant it was flooding the engine and causing it not to start... So I would check that out...

Yup Sounds exactly like what I delt with... Its probably that flooding your engine... Seriously check on it before you try to fix other things bc before i figured it out i Had spent about 300 on random parts and relays... So Check it out =] And make sure your o2 sensor wiring is ok also.. Thats what my problem was
