Headers for 3.0 whats my options

Ok guys I got my engine almost out and was thinking about if I should intall headers for my 1992 truck with a 3.0 rather then put that stupid cross over crap back in . plus better for head gasket right? So my question is since I am not building a race engine what is a good pare of headers for a fair price. I would also like to be able to install them with the engine.I found some pacesetter is that a good brand. I also see downey... again I am not looking for performance as much as making my motor more reliable. oh and a bonus I live in california so I need to make it legal. or maybe just go to REF?

Pacesetter no longer make headers for the 3.0.

I believe that Downey makes the only headers that are CARB approved.

No Pacesetter sucks HARD.

I had them on my 22R and constantly fought exhaust leaks at the flange.

I think LC Engineering is making one now, otherwise you have Thorley or NWOR and that's it.

wow downey headers are expensive... there is no way I am spending $500 on headers... Are there any cheaper headers someone else has tested on a 1992 truck or simular 3.0? Plus I dont want to mess up my 02 sensors and then get wrong air fuel mixture. the only way I would want headers is if they were affordable, better for my head gasket, smog legal, and equal or better gas milage. Any experiance in this area would be great...

Downey's ARE the cheapest. Like others have said. The only other two are Northwest Offroad, and Thorley. Both more expensive than Downey.
