What does it take to get Toyota to fix the Head Gasket.

Bought a truck dropped in a different engine and (thinking) head gasket is blown.

Do they check both engine and windshield VIN numbers. If they are going to fix it for free I sure as hell will try. Beats 16 hours in the garage and 300 dollars in parts.

Or does it matter as long as the engine vin number has not been replaced in their system yet. Suppossedly this engine was rebuilt by the dealership 25K ago so I might have to have a word with the last owner and find out more details and call that dealership.

But just wanted some info on it as I searched and found that people are having it done, just not anything on the specific requirements.
