having electrical problems

so i ran into a tree this last weekend and had to replace my tailgate on my 92 runner. so i bought a 90 tailgate with the swing away spare tire and i put it on and went to connect the elecrical cord from the tailgate to my truck and the adapter wasnt the same so i cut off the adapter from my truck and put on the one from the 90 runner and everything is connected but my back window wont go up it just beeps at me. every wire matched up fine and is connected with butt conectors and they are all held in strong. does anyone know what is keeping my back window from coming up? the down button works fine its the up that doesnt

It thinks your window is not shut, or the gate is not shut for some reason. Obviously since you wired in that connector, the issue is there.

Why did you put a swing style gate on it? There is no provision for the license plate!

eh, no. You would have to check the FSM for wiring diagram. There are a few sensors in the setup that tells the system its ok to roll up/down.

go to the main page for this forum https://www.yotatech.com/f116 and look for the FSM links at the top of the list.
