Hardtop side window re-install

I finally got around to redoing my L trim. I pulled the side windows out, and it is time to reinstall them. I pieced bach together some of the "dumb dumb" adhesive that originally is used. Well i am concerned that it will hold when reinstalling it back on. It is kind of dirty from me handling it since it ripped off the window frame in places. I heated it up to kind of get it tacky again. I already installed one side and i clamped it a bit, but it doesnt seem to hold all that well. What have you guy used for new ahesive for the side windows? Something that will hold? I really am not sure bout re-using the old stuff because i am just waiting for the windows to fly off when going down the road

The stuff your looking for is called butyl sealant tape, you can get it at
www.technologylk.com the size your look for is 1/16 x 3/8 and the part number is 3M5423116X38. I had to replace a window in my 4Runner and this is what i used.

Thanks guys!! I will go by the stores and look for it. I did install them, the inside trim kind of holds it in, so that is good, but i would still like a better seal.

I got my butyl tape at NAPA. One box is plenty for both windows. It's a coil rolled up in a thin box. Though the diameter is thicker than what's on from the factory, you can easily stretch it thinner as you apply it.

There is also a product by 3M called Window Weld. I comes in a caulk tube. I got mine at Autozone for like $8.00.
