hard start after engine swap
hey just finished my engine swap so i was expecting a few issues.
one that i've found is a hard start. it is winter now, so it's been about -10c or so. i was thinking that was the issue. but when trying to start it at first it won't. but after trying for a bit, and leaving it for a minute or two it started right up... so i'm thinking maybe a fuel related issue... taking a minute to get the fuel through the system again? any thoughts would be appreciated!
thanks

ya sounds like the motor is waiting for fuel. are you losing fuel pressure while its sitting?
does it start quickly if ran, turned off, then restarted after say.......15 seconds?

thats kinda what i'm thinking too. got it started today and ran it for a while, took it for a drive. it sat for about half hour and started again fine. and while i went into the store and came back and it started. i'll see when i try starting it tomorrow if it's still having issues. i have a fuel filter to stick in too. so i'll see if that helps, and i've heard of using sea foam? any thoughts on running that through the system?
thanks

finally got up the ambition to replace the fuel filter today... been -20c out, so just had to do it, was only -10c today... got it replaced, and it started up right away.. so that was the problem and it seems to be ok now. thanks for the help.
