hanger bearing or 4runner driveshaft?

my hanger bearing is destroyed! easily a half inch of play in any direction and fo some reason the parts store cant get it. through toyota its a 300dollar part and that just seams rediculous for a danm bearing so i was thinking about just doing away with this crappy idea and going with the 4runner shaft. some knowledgeable opinions would be great! thanks guys

I would look for a hanger bearing or driveshaft off of a used truck. Where are you located? Is it for that xtra cab in your avatar? Is that 4WD?

I would start with local junk yards, or try and find a parts truck. I might have one off a 2WD soon, but I don't know the condition of it.

Good luck!

I'm really not sure if that will fit or not. I wonder why the trucks run the 2 piece driveshaft, and the runner uses a 1 piece?

Anybody know about this? Is it for clearance? Pinion angle? 'Cuz they wanted to? I have wondered about this before.

The 4runner shaft will not work, its about 20" to short, they are a 106" wheel base the Extracab PU is 121"

If you want a one piece you will have to get one made.

2nd what Wheelingnoob said...Most driveline shop can even use yours and cut off what every they don't need to make it a one piece.
They also balanced it for you. When you get it back, if you want to take it apart, mark it first or you'll have to get it re-balance.

It's two piece for clearance only. Just junkyard one, they're ungodly expensive new.

For the effort of actually making/having one made, just buy a new support...
