Grinding Noise
Okay so I have a noise comming from the front end, it starts at around 52 and ends at 62. It is a very rapid vibration but I don't really know if I would call it grinding. The tone and feel of the vehicle is different when I let off the gas but it is still there at that speed.
Now I have tried it in 4 wheel drive, it doesn't make a difference. It is not dependant on engine RPM as I hit the switch on the AT and the revs pick up but the noise, or vibration remains the same. I do not have free wheeling hubs and the tires are new and balanced. The steering wheel doesn't act like unbalanced tires. Also I have replaced the steering stabilizer and shocks. I have also replaced the diff fluid and that did not alter the sound.
So if I remove the front driveshaft will that automatically mean it is the front diff? If it where the wheel bearings wouldn't it be heard/felt the entire time?
HELP!

You know what, I think I got the same problem except it starts and stops randomly. I would describe it the same way. starts from 15mph and up, but isn't there below that.. I repacked bearings both sides and still same noise (grinds), then I removed hubs.... Same thing... But I wil try to remove drive line see if that helps but I highly doubt it.
Did you figure it out yet?
