Going to reverse sometimes sucks
MIne will do that once in a while. I usually push the clutch twice and it won't do it, or you might try going into first then reverse.

Thats true, I had replaced mine with the marlin unit. It fixed alot of problems, but not the grinding in reverse. Alot of yota's I have driven had this problem... Just wear and tear I suppose..

You have to wait for the input shaft to slow down before you can put it in reverse. If you are stopped, the output is stopped, but if the clutch is in, the input just spins for a lil bit before slowing down. Something that might help is to take the clutch out halfway when shifting into reverse.
