Gotta Love That 4Runner
Well, just replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat and belts as well as rebuilding the power steering pump which was leaking badly. The timing belt with 170K on it had a nice chunk out of it and was ripped nearly halfway across the belt, so I got it just in time. Thanks to all the members here who have posted guides on the timing belt replacement, they were a big help.
I had considered a rebuilt P/S pump but decided to go the cheap route and rebuild it myself. Glad I did. Only cost $20, easy to do.
So I hop in the old 4Runner, which has been parked for a few months and drive around. Runs great, stoked. Hey, windshield is kind of dirty. Hit the washer; doesn't work. What, I just fixed it last fall. Oh well. Hit the rear window switch on the center console (fixed the same time as the washer) and it doesn't work either.
And the 4Runner saga continues...........
