Got meh new tires on!

So, when I got this thing, it had almost brand new p225/75s on it. Ugh.

After fixing all the important mechanical stuff, it was time for new tires! Got 33x10.5s BFG MT KM2s off of onlinetires.com for right at $160 each, shipped. $90 something bucks for the local tire place to put 'em on and balance 'em, and I'm most pleased!

Before (with wheel trim already removed, running boards rattlecan bedliner'd black):

After, running boards removed:

I replaced the rear coils with Moogs, which fixed the ass sag, but I've got a tool box, a couple dozen gallons of water (camping trip), firewood, some random gear, AND the four old tires in the back, plus a full tank of gas, so it looks saggy in the pic.

Next come bumpers, possibly sliders, and a locker, but that kind of $$ is a bit down the line.

Its got 4.88s stock, and I'm not sure upping to 5.29s is worth it for me.

If you have an automatic then the 4.88's were ment for 31" tires or smaller.

5.29's would be an amazing difference

Hmm, I haven't been too disapointed so far. Not sure swapping gears is something I'd be comfortable with.... Replacing CV joints and rear coils are about the most complicated things I'm equipped for.

does your 4runner still run as fast?
because if it does there's no need to change gears

It never was fast, that's for sure. But while there is a very slight decrease that I've noticed, but I'd say it's maybe 5%. I'm plesantly surprised, I was expecting a much larger drop in oomph.

Well, the other car I drive is my GF's '05 Tahoe, and compared to it, the Runner has always been a pig.

Look good. I've been looking for some KM2s myself and will try that website.

Just a hint, call the order in, don't use the online order form. Guy's name I think is Joshua, he's very helpful and quick. Shipping took 2 days from California to Texas.

I'm looking for 31" KM2s and their prices are $30 cheaper than any I've found. See if they actually "have" any in stock.

Post up your experience on the new thread I created in the tire and wheel section.
