Spiffy!!!
Like the color choices. Same color I used on my block and valve cover. Only I didn't do the silver "Toyota" lettering. Wanted to, but....
So, how'd you do it? The silver lettering, that is? I can see it isn't paint, but rather the aluminum surface.

Sweet. I used some regular engine paint on my valve cover, and now it's beginning to flake off. Next time I paint, I will try that. Thanks.

I think it was the picture of your rig that made me choose that red actually
I'm probably going to do the intake manifold aswell, in the same fashion with the EFI lettering bare aluminum and the rest red.

Is this a build up -or- a rebuild?
--cheap oil pressure trick - take the oil pump relief valve spring nut out and put a washer in it to add some preload to the relief spring, just a little bit will do fine, it'll give you a bit more oil pressure at higher RPM. When I built mine, I drilled the end out and welded a nut on the end to thread a bolt with a jam nut through so I could adjust max oil pressure. I ended up setting it once and forgetting about it, never leaked, but a washer would have been much simpler.
. . . you might want to use some thinner to take the paint off the oil filter gasket surface and from under where the oil filter goes . . . just my .02

Yup its a rebuild
EPN stuff. 20 over pistons, 268 cam, OS stainless valves
All that good stuff
And I've been thinking about that oil filter seal, and im definatley gonna have to work some of that paint off of it, haha!

Cleaning the gasket surface/surfaces is a good idea. Particularly the oil filter since it's something that will have to come off again fairly soon. (break in oil changes). I learned the hard way. It was very difficult to get the filter off and the gasket stuck to the painted surface. I'm inclined to believe the gasket had also twisted while seating the filter....not sealing as well as it would otherwise. Fortunately, I found this out before I'd actually ran the motor. I had removed it when installing the motor to get the starter on.
One tip, I might add.....don't put the intake plenum on until you get the injector/wiring harness installed. Makes life much easier. Also, if you have the remote style auxiliary air valve (as opposed to the integrated TB design), hook up the coolant lines from it to the coolant rail on the side of the block that runs under the intake. Leave it dangling until you get the plenum. Very hard to reach the rail afterward. Atleast, I thought so.

I need a little bit of advice as well
I'm doing the exhaust later this summer when the engine is in, and I'm leaving the stock manifold for now...
But I'm going 2.25 down, but should I leave the cat? I know these engines need back pressure, but if I took out the cat and left the muffler how would she do?
Also what kind of muffler do you guys recommend? I'm trying to shy away from the fart can sound...
