Repair and Service Manuals

I am the type of person that likes manuals. I always have as much technical information as I can on any vehicle I own. Maybe it’s a holdover from my Navy days. I have two Chilton’s Repair manuals for my 87 Toyota which I found to be very frustrating, vague, simple and not in-depth, generally useless. The other day I was surfing eBay for Toyota stuff and stumbled across a Toyota Service Manual pickup & 4runner78-87 by Robert Bentley No.TPU7. People if you don’t have one, get one it’s outstanding! Expanded views, flow charts, semantics, lots of information, test procedures, etc.

There are three editions of the 1990 4Runner FSM- Engine, Body/ Electrical (includes, axles, diffs, suspension) and lastly the Transmission.

I ordered the repair manual for the engine, and they brought in the manual for the body/ electrical. I said I didn't want it, so they ordered in the right one, then went to pick it up. The dealer told me they couldn't send back the Body/Electrical so they'd give me them both for the price of one. I didn't complain. I think I've used the body/electrical FSM more to be honest.
