Fuel tank to fuel injector rail modernization

Well; Here in NY we have road salt and it eats everything, throw in some ethanol in the gas and you have disaster.

So I began a quest to replace & modernize my 1988 4runner fuel system to something more modern.

Found this at the local speed shop, cut the end off and put an o-ring on it.

It threads into the fuel rail itself in place of the Banjo fitting from the fuel filter bolted to the side of the engine under the intake manifold. In place of the "pulse modulator that holds the Banjo in) So now I have the whole world of -6AN available to get to the fuel tank with.

Here you can see it installed in the rail, with the old corroded to death modulator, and three new hose fittings for going to a new fuel filter and out then farther back to the fuel tank.

So now I can work on the fuel tank

get them injectors out and send the to witchhunter, they'll clean and rebuild them for 22$ each I think and replace all the ruber from what I undertand. Ffffrom what I read they'll be as good as new and send the test beforee and after and you'll have them back to ya in about a week I believe.

witch hunter doesn't warranty their work on your injectors. try fuel injection specialties instead, which carries a one-year warranty.

I don't know old Yotas but that looks like an old.. Land Cruiser I think? A guy in my neighborhood has one that I drool over whenever I run past his house.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the fuel delivery system rebuild. As cool as going all original is, some systems can definitely benefit from some modernization!

sadly, my cj has provided better and more reliable service than my 12 year newer 4runner. so, really, idgaf whether you like cjs or not.

i'm only offering you advice relative to the fuel injectors, from first-hand experience (which you appear to lack according to your post). i sent 4 from my 4runner to witch hunter for cleaning/rebuild. one failed within a week of being reinstalled, and another failed a month later. it was my fault for choosing witch hunter, because they don't warranty their work on customer injectors. i should have chosen a service that warrants the work. that's why i suggest the other vendor, because they warranty their work on customer injectors.

Skypilot, can you check that part number? Fragola 421962 doesn't look right.

Also, as you can see Fragola specifies Crush Washers. An o-ring may not cut it.

Gotta love those Aeroquip type reusable hose fittings!!

They make for a truly durable and heavy duty professional installation of any kind of hose.

I've even (almost) got used to the sticker shock when I go to buy some.

First of all the statement was meant to be sarcastic all around and second I'm only going on what I've seen on the forums about witchhunter, I don't have any first hand knowledge of the guy. Third its your perrogative on what you drive or prefer, nothing was negatively meant by the statement made by my, I just like to aggravate a bit, lol.

Its a work in progress; as I find stuff I will update it. The fuel filter threads are M12x1.25 and I found an Earl's fitting for that so I can keep the demodulator thing on that end. I really need to move the fuel filter up and to the fender well. So I'm getting closer to where I need to go.

You are right about the o-ring, but the owner put it on there for me. As too the looks he cut the end off so I had a bigger hole for gas. That's why it looks wrong.

The injectors & fuel rail are spares I keep around so they are not pretty, and might not work, but they were free.
