Fuel rail/ injector leak

okay, i am working on a friends 88 4runner w/ the 3vze engine. originally he wanted me to replace the injectors as there was a leak where the injector and fuel rail met. this was happening on the drivers side rail on the injector nearest the firewall. I took it all apart and replaced the injectors. Go outside today and crank it up and there is still a leak at that same junction. Do i need to apply any lube at the connection? i always thought they just pressed on.

Lots of lube or they rip when you insert them.

I used this stuff, when I was having the same problem, worked mint.

You did replace all the o-rings, correct?

The service manual says to lube them with fuel, has worked fine every time for me. You have to be careful in assembly to go slow and rotate them back and forth to ensure the o-rings aren't pinched.

i installed complete rebuilt injectors. i didnt lube them. could be why my leak is happening. i guess i'll take it apart, inspect the gaskets and reinstall.
