fuel line question......

my fuel line is rusted out about 4 feet from were it leaves the pump bracket. i dont want to mess around with bending the steel tubing. what do you guys think about replaceing it with rubber hose??http://www.goodyearep.com/ProductsDetail.aspx?id=17820

or another hose brand/type recomendations?

i am on a budget and this is just a winter vehicle.

I like Earl's braided line. I don't run more than about a foot of plain rubber line. I don't mind stainless braided though.

parts from the dealer are not that expensive, although install is tough. If you bend your own tube, which is really easy, it will be cheap and you can route it any way you want so it will be easy to install. Your cost will just be a tool to bend and endform and the line.

I bought a pre-bent hardline from the dealer. List price is about $70, with my discount (awesome counter guys- been going there for years) I got it for about $30.

Replacement was a bit tricky, but not terrible. I pulled the old one out in numerous pieces, then removed the softline going to the front of the fuel filter. Connect that softline to the hardline (don't lose the banjo bolt or crush washers!) shove it down through the engine bay.

I did it alone, but it's MUCH easier if you have a second set of hands feeding it down to you through the engine bay. Once it's mostly down, the only difficult part was getting it past the torsen bar mount. After that, it was a cake walk.

dealer parts are WAY over priced.. yeah, i have all the flaring/double flaring tools and the pipe bender.. i just hate doing it its a pain in the ass.. but its a winter vehicle and pretty rusty.... would it be a bad idea to use rubber fuel hose??
