front end noise HELP!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone,
The problem i am having on my 1991 4runner 4x4 3.0 is this,
On the passengers side front end is a grinding noise that is equaled by the rotation of the tire, i thought it was the wheelbearing and replaced it, at the same time i inspected the tie rods and front axels. The axels seems solid but i have been told that maybe the problem. The noise is only there when the vehicle is cold and all but goes away after a good drive. Also when turning a corner the sound fades until i straighten the wheel then it grows in volume. There is no hard clunk that is typical of a blown front axel when i turn.
This is where it gets interesting, the above paragraph is when i am in two wheel drive, when i put it in 4x4 high the sound is gone completly, but when the passenger tire hits a bump it will pull almost violently to the right, this would indicate to me anyways that i have a bad tie rod but as i mentioned they seemed fine.
So Guys I need u to work your magic for me please because i am a poor SOB and can't afford a mechanic.
If anymore info is needed let me know, also i do not have manual hubs.

Its the spindle bushings. Had the EXACT same thing with my truck.
Theres two bronze bushings at each end of the spindle for the axle, there wore out and is a lot of up and down movement or slop.
Hope you can picture what im talking about.
