Frame Rot Repair (Lots of Pics)

First I'm not sure if this constitutes a build-up so I didn't post there.

I posted a few weeks back that I found some frame rot on my '94 4x4 after a power washing.

Here's the Driver's Side:

Here's the Passenger's Side:

Obviously I pulled the Bed as you can see. This allowed me to see that I should probably pull the cab to get enough room to work. And it was a good thing I did.

So I ended up with this:

and this:

I'm sure my neighbors love me now!

A wire wheel on the angle grinder exposed this for what I'm working with on the passenger's side:

I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be attached, but this explains why I get better flex on that side

Using some 3/8" plate we had laying around I don't think I'm going to have any flex problems:

Wow... I've never seen a frame rotted so bad and we have quite a bit of rust here due to salt on the roads. Good job though.

Now if the UPS man would just show up with my Energy Supension bushing kit from LCE, my parking brake cable from autohaus, or my shackles from Wabbit (sorry 4crawler Wabbit had a better price) then I could start putting this girl back together.

I was wondering how you were coming along. Great job on the repair. Its looking good. The truck looks to be in great condition too. So what did you think of pulling the body off? Not such a bad job from my experience. I think it goes back toghter easier myself. Just because you know what needs to be put back toghter. Keep the pics coming. Once again, you are doing great.

I think you will come out with a better frame then doing a swap just because you are using better metal then what an original frame was built with.

Let me put them in my Delorean and I'll be there the day before you took the bed off and found the rust.

Hey I wasn't trying to knock you, it's just once a project gets some momentum I get frustrated when i have to stop and wait. Plus I'm stuck driving my brother's toy Jeep while MY truck is sidelined.
