I am sure you might be able to make them work!!

But to what point you would need different a key for the ignition switch.

The Ford truck Key blank I have is nothing like any of The toyota Blanks I have.

Be interesting to see how this is going to work out

just based from mental images, they do look similar. and i know from experiance ford locks are a PITA to pick open.

and the saying "ford is forward" reminds me that you'll get confused alot

Is it a Ford part or is it a part that was sold to both Ford & Toyota's, most likely the latter. MY AMC Concord had door mechanism and power locks made in Japan, but then AMC always said we assembly cars, we do not manufacture; most parts are bought off the shelf. Autobody parts are custom built. Locks mechanism matched GMC company called Saginaw

I do not understand the purpose of this. Why not get an aftermarket set instead of using an aftermarket Ford tumbler?

Its well known that toyota door locks sucks. I have a friend that actually open my truck with a corolla key. Second, ford locks are a Great PITA to open even for professionals. third, well the price:$10.00 pair. Here in Puerto Rico is a common mod cause of steals. Actually croocks here use old toyota keys to steal.

I would agree this is true. I locked my keys in my truck once and used a set from another vehicle to open the door. Didn't think to try it in the ignition ....

Curious about this too, got new keys made with key code, but my door locks are kinda hinky anyway, and I know they're stupidly easy to open with a shave key or another key and some patience...it sucks. I just rely on looks to deter theft for now.
