i know some of the chevy guys with older rigs around here get a length of chain, mount it to their sliders and weld the center links together to create a flat step, and leave the others loose... that way when it hits a rock it just folds under... does that make sense?

I think its going to look redneck no matter what, steps just do.

You could mount a step hanging from the frame or body supported by some heavy rubber strips (i.e. worn out tire tread section).

i dont reccomend the grip tape, when you slide in or out and you rub it on that tape it is not going to be pretty. Plus the females will not like it very much either

Pretty flexible, light, can be transferred to other vehicles, and comes powder coated...

how many girls have you seen on scaffolding ??

i know my g.f. wears clothes that would rip in half if it came close to grip tape. she likes it that way, and she has a tough time getting in my truck at times, but once shes in, its fun to watch her hold her boobs down when i hit the river rocks...

i say, screw the sidestep, and park next to a lowered car to get in and out..(or a tree)...
