Code 52 doesn't have ANYTHING to do with where your timing is set. It tells you that the ECM has "lost touch" with the knock sensor, and to save the engine the ECM retards the timing (bad acceleration, low power, you get it).
The light was already on, just never flashed. Now that I got it back from the mechanic it flashes and doesn't idle like it should after getting my timing belt replaced. And asking the guys I work with at Napa, they say the flashing could have something to do with my timing being messed up. I know that the code 52 has absolutely nothing to do with my timing, but they way it flashes indicates "52" which is why I'm confused as hell

My first guess is they left the jumper in:

Your codes haven't change, you're just reading them constantly now.

If you remove the jumper, the flashing will stop, but it will still run badly.

Hey all, this is one of my first posts and apologize for posting something that has already been done.

Knock sensor issue! My check engine light comes on every once in a while. It was rare and now it's getting more frequent. It flashes 52.
I can start it. Rev it and hold it to 3k rps. No light.....it will only turn on after 30 miles per hour roughly. I know the connection at the plug at the top of the head isn't the best. Any ideas?
