WOW!!!!!!!!!

again I say, WOW !!

Your metal fab and bodyworking skills are impressive!

I have a 96 with 275K on it for my daily driver, and a 95 with the blown head gasket that I'm in the middle of swapping in a 1KZT & 5 speed.
I found your thread and your other website while searching for 5 speed swap info:

I like 4 Runners, but I gotta say you should be using that fab skill on super rare vehicles that would be $$ worthy of the time input.

Like a really rusty Shelby Mustang or hemi Plymouth Superbird or some other rare vehicle that would increase in value $20K once all the rust is gone.

You have a new career in your future.

This is exactly what I needed to see as I just picked up the entire back half of a 95 4runner and I now have an inkling about how deep the water is that I've found myself in.

Dude, fantastic write up and one hell of a job. Way to do it right. I am currently working on my 94 rust problems which were not as bad as yours but I am doing the bondo/body filler route. I snipped out some metal with tin snips, ground down smooth, grid off rust, rust converter, etc. Tried to get rust as best as I could. This was my first body work job. I have a new baby and many things to get done before gun season here in Western New York. I spent way too much time on this truck but my son is going to be 14 this year and will get the truck when he is ready to drive. I also bought some of that EastWood Internal frame spray that's green to spray inside the fenders and doors where I was working on to hopefully prolong it's life. We'll see. Doing the body work so my cousin can spray it before we go hunting. It was originally red...it's faded and I hate red. It's going to be charcoal gray with flat black on hood and tailgate.

Again, great work and did not mean to hijack or anything...but wanted to share my experience in this appropriate thread.

Slacker, when the 94 needs rear quarters...I am going with yours. Rust problem and dent problems solved. We will see how long the current repair lasts before I have to call you. I hope all this was worth it....???
