Lightbulb first 4runner , with afew issues

hey guys i just bought a 1990 22re 4runner, 292,000kms with some serious body rust but it is in the shop right now getting fixed and repainted!. i been checkin out 4" sus lift kits and wow once u lift these yoters u can see the fuel tank hangs so low! any aftermarket low profile fuel tanks they make?? im guessin my bros 91 pickup has the tank mounted alot higher? and any people do the rear leaf spring converseion on their 4runners and leave the IFS? i was thinking mabye thats the way to go i dont like the big brackets that comes down to hold the rear end. as you can tell i want a pretty clean look and good clearance when its lifted lol. thanks for any imput !!!

welcome to yotatech, thousands of people do a solid axle swap and ditch the IFS.

I don't know this from personal experience, but a lot of threads here suggest the ifs on your truck (and mine) will wear parts faster with a significant suspension lift. Maybe 4" is okay tho'? Some people relocate the spare from underneath and move the gas tank into that area, which would be a necessity anyway if you plan to run much bigger rubber.
