Factory brush guard

Does anybody know if the 3rd gen trucks were the only ones with the option of a brush guard from the factory? I found one locally for sale but wanted to make sure it will fit. It's got thick tubes across the top and bottom and thinner tubes around the headlights. Says "TOYOTA" on the bottom right.

i think it was also a dealer option that could be added to 4runners and trucks that didn't come with them. they bolt on very simply - mounts on frame and mounts on bumper. you'll likely have to drill your bumper.

just know though that these are typically regarded as "damage multipliers" since they literally do nothing to protect your vehicle on impact, and usually multiply damage if you hit anything heavier than an empty cardboard box. they are made of thin-walled steel and don't have proper design for real front-end protection and really only function for aesthetics. unless you're practically getting it for free, I would say skip it and put the money toward a real bumper.

it's your choice though, but yes it should fit.

Yep, it's pretty obvious it won't provide much protection. I'm getting it pretty cheap, so it's more of getting it just to have one. Don't see them too often. It'll give me a place to mount some lights until I can afford a nice tube or plate bumper.
