Ext cab bed and short bed

Pretty much what the title says. Is the short bed and the ext cab bed on a 93 pickup the same? IE, can I find a wrecked standard cab truck with a good bed and put it on my Ext cab truck that has a hammered bed from too many over grown roads?

Thanks

Thanks. I knew the ext cab 2wd ones were the same, but for some reason thought the ext cab beds were different and maybe had difffernt mounting location. That gives me a lot more choices . Also means I passed some good ones up already, live and learn.

I kind of doubt they are the same.
There's a specs manual floating around online with all the frame dimensions.
This will give the body mount positions for the bed and will tell ya if they are the same/similar or not.
Unless someone has owned both or can give you a straight answer.

Thanks for the link. Says you have a fiberglass bed on your 86. Whats the advantage out of curiosity? Are the easier to fix?

I've had mine on my truck for 12 years now .. other then being rear-ended
($3000.00 damage to the ford ) , broke my glass gate , I still havent fixed it but the insurance company did give me a G note . Other then that it still looks as good as the day I put it on

I guess the rust issue was so obvious I missed it, but it makes perfect sense. I was just curious if it was easier to fix or to knock dents outs. My current bed is hammered and imagine when I replace it, the next one will end up the same eventually.

Thanks for the replies
