Exhaust System Replacement
Been doing some searching for a while for a cat-back exhaust system. Thing is I really can't stand the "ricer" sound from basically all of the ones I've found. Does anyone know of a system that has good flow but sounds pretty much stock?
I just bought an LC header and a magnaflow cat and wanted to finish out my exhaust.

That doesn't seem too bad. Is that the stock replacement? Do you know how big the piping on it is? Also does that fit on an extended cab or a reg cab?

I just recently went through this with my truck and replacing the factory exhaust. I ended up getting the wrong part the first time because the length of the wheelbase of your truck will change the length of the exhaust. For example, a regular cab has a wheelbase of 103", whereas my extended cab has a wheelbase of 121". So make sure you measure and get the right part and right length of exhaust pipe. Just my $.02

X2. I'm running a Downey 2.5" exhaust system with the magnaflow muffler that only the under 30 crowd enjoys. This past Friday I did exactly what Bob said and went to a muffler shop, they picked out a stock style muffler with 2.5" inlet and outlet. Genxr stills has a free flowing exhaust that is much quieter (not stock quiet) and doesn't backfire anymore. It's much more age appropriate for me now.

Ended up buying the Bosal muffler/piping and should be here tomarrow. Just waiting on my LC header to get here and I'll have a full new exhaust setup. Does anyone know what size bolts connect the cat to the muffler piping/down pipe? I have a feeling I won't be able to get mine off easily and would rather have some new ones at hand.

Believe they are same size that came with your LCE header for its header-to-cat connection? I got the LCE header and pro flow system a couple years ago and I think all the bolts were the same size.....
You may want to get the connector pip that slips into the header welded....those slip joints are crap and will leak.

Bosal has three different parts listed for the trucks based on wheelbase.
286-219 - Short Wheelbase
286-223 - Long Wheelbase
286-225 - Extra Long Wheelbase
It looks like 286-223 is not available anymore on their North American Website, but the 286-225 is. Ebay has all three, my question is what is the wheelbase of the extra long truck? I didn't know that was an option in 92.
