exhaust smell source
So my truck STINKS!!! It's hard to describe the smell. It's not the catalytic converter rotten egg smell. It's almost like my truck is running rich, but it's not (i've tried to adjust VAFM accordingly, still get the same smell)
It smells like fully burned gas with a hint of oil. It doesnt only do it when the engine is running, it also smells for about 15 minutes after I park it.
It is burning oil, but not a lot. Maybe a quart between oil changed. It does smoke on startup if it sits for more than 6 hours.
I was thinking about replacing the head (i still am when I do the piston rings) but I was wondering where this smell could be starting from. Could it be a bad cat/muffler? It does have a cherrybomb muffler (if you want to call it that) and the cat looks stock. This is a California model truck, so it still has all of the emissions stuff.
