Exhaust pipe issues
Anyone else having issues with the muffler pipe pulling out of the factory welds where you add on to finish off your exhaust?
The rear pulled completely out and I can spin the front still attached by the way in circles like there are no welds at all.
This is the second one I have had do this to me I want to get this resolved before doing my 3.4 swap so I don't have this same issue with a new exhaust system. I will get pic's up soon as I can to show you what I am talking about if you can't follow what I'm getting at.

Could it be too much weight on the front? If I'm picking up what your saying the wleds on the front might be just not strong enough...maybe use some temporary supports while finishing it to take pressure off the front

This is the 2nd one to have done this on my truck both are or were 2 1/4 the first a turbo brand and this one a FlowMaster 40(replaced by muffler distributor to replace the last one )We do custom exhaust(we bend and build our exhaust to each vehicle) work in our shop so this is getting to be a real strange deal. the real issue is that out of the box the muffler pipe is fine or so it would apper then after a couple months the factory installed piping to build off gets to a point where it slips right out of the muffler and the rest of the exhaust is still in tact but it's is like running open headers because the muffler is cut out of the exhaust system so to speak.

I'm not sure what to say. i've got a magnaflow muffler on my 88 and an el cheapo 'turbo' muffler on the 91 and after 2 years on the 88 and 3 on the 91, neither is exhibiting any problem with the inlet or outlets on the mufflers.
hate to say, but maybe the muffler installation procedures need some review.
the pipes should be bent in such a way that no tweaking to the muffler and mounts needs done. It all should sit prefectly in place without the stands or hangers.
